I guarantee you that one of your precious iOS apps that you love was built with Flash. Adobe is not killing Flash not anytime soon not for a long time. What they are saying is that they are not going to provide anymore MOBILE versions of the Flash PLAYER. HTML5 cannot replace Flash anytime soon and you do realize that they are to coexist right? Wait, do you know what HTML5 is?

with the websites I normally vist – YES! I don’t feel like I’m missing a lot even without Flash support on iOS devices.

I am sad. I enjoy creating with Flash. I hope they add a publish setting that will allow other formats like HTML5 to be created within Flash Professional. I have grown comfortable working in that program.

wow this is a good time to be a web site developer since so many web sites will have to covert from Flash content to HTML5 content but I am SAD to say that may take quite a lot of time to get done.

Few mobile devices? Hardly..

Jobs was right, and by sticking to his decision.. its made it possible for Adobe to be right.. It’s been the 5 years they said it would take to replace flash with html5.

I’m glad Adobe was smart enough to work on both paths… Had Adobe not contributed so much to html5 they wouldn’t be able to make this decision with confidence.

That’s exactly why now… A whole new set of problems to tackle.

Things across the web have matured quite a bit… Mobile sites are generally much more pleasurable to navigate.

They said it’d be 5 years before html5 could replace flash… Well, its been 5 years.

They were simply exhausted by the sheer quantities of varied android handset configs. It was a wholehearted effort on their part, at least. It only gave them heartache.. however.. because as good as mobile flash is .. its still problematic.. so as hard as they worked, on a free download, all they hear is complaints from all directions.

In the end, minimizing the data throughput required for content is the number one mission for mobile web. H.264 is ” greener” in all respects.

Don’t know why they gave it up now since Tegra 3 is starting to show up. Oh well, I’ve enjoy watching full episode of TV show on full blown website instead of that mobile site the iOS has. Good time. If it still support Tegra 3 then I see no reason to not download it.

if flash won’t work on any mobile device going forward then why develop flash at all. No website developer in his right mind would ever touch Flash again. Mobile devices are the future and future has no place for Flash according to Adobe and Steve Jobs.

where are all the apple haters that moaned when jobs told the truth about flash. flash is officially on its way out since it doesnt perform well on the few mobile devices it is on.Even the Android devices have bad flash performance.
