Ah, War Games. Whenever I mention that movie, even around people from the 80s, I get blank stares. 1200 baud modem, you say? More like 300 baud back then. Not sure about the remake–no one could replace Matthew Broderick, nor the goddess Ally Sheedy.

Please no remakes. Most of these films are good enough to stand on their own and do not need “updating”. Do we really need a 2011 Ferris Beuller that skips school so he can go to Cameron’s house and spend the whole day playing WoW, downloading porn and updating his Facebook page?

Actually Wargames was re-done. It’s “Wargames 2″ which, although technically a sequel, followed a very similar plot to the first movie. Really it was more of a remake than anything.
Wargames 2, however, kind of sucked.
Also, “Eagle Eye” with Shai LeBouf is a twist on the same Wargames concept.
Though a true Wargames re-make would be pretty darn cool, especially with todays’ Tech and CGI.
