As gamers, we are always starved for information on upcoming titles. We are constantly scouring the internets in search for some one-liner mentioned by a studio exec, or a screenshot hidden on a company website. When we do find such a tasty morsel, it makes for a great day. That being said, Half-Life fans may want to go take a leak before peering at the picture below.

Half Life 2: Episode 3

Yes, that’s only the small version of the pic, the full-size image can be seen here. This is one of the first conceptual pieces of art for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. It appears that our favorite hero is standing alone, ready to take on the Advisor with only his trusty crowbar.

Although Valve hasn’t claimed this particular piece of artwork, it is credited to Ted Backman, Jeremy Bennett and Tristan Reidford all of which just happen to be artists for Valve. Will we see some Episode 3 details at E3? I certainly hope so.

Why is it called Half Life 2 Episode 3 and not Half Life 3?

In essence, Half-Life 2: Episodes 1, 2, and 3, make up Half-Life 3. The reason they chose the episodic approach is so we’re not all waiting 5 years to play the sequel.
