My love for RPGs started with a little game called The Legend of Zelda. I loved it, and the sequels that followed, however, it was some time before I really branched out and played other RPGs. It wasn’t that I had anything against them, there were just a lot of other genres to be played. It wasn’t until I got my Playstation that I realized what I’d been missing. That, of course, was when I discovered Final Fantasy VII. The series is now all the way up to XII, and according to Tetsuya Nomura, we’ll be seeing XIII by the end of this year.
If you’re not familiar with Tetsuya Nomura, he’s the character designer behind many of the games in the Final Fantasy series. What’s more is we should expect a playable demo to be released well ahead of the launch to show off the updated battle system.
For those waiting to hear about the Xbox 360 launch, you’ll probably be waiting a long time. Square Enix still has this thing about releasing most of its games on the PS3, and this one is no different.

I hope the demo/game will provide the same awe and wonder that FF7 provoked went it was released. I played the demo of FF7 included with Eirgheiz back in the day and since it was one of the firsts 3D cinematic RPGs, I was totally blown away. And although I prefer 8, the series just improved on what it had on 7. Even the PS2 transition wasn’t very emotive.
I completely agree. When I got my Playstation for Christmas it came with a demo disc that had FFVII on it. Honestly, I don’t remember any of the other games that were on there, but I just kept playing FFVII over and over until I got the full game.
This article better be saying that Xbox 360 is not getting Final Fantasy XIII at all - because that’s the truth. In an IGN interview Tetsuya Nomura was asked about exclusivity. He shared a story that during one of his meetings in his office, the developers all sat down and asked if it was okay to program with PS3 exclusivity in mind? Tetsuya Nomura responded, “Of Course! Afterall it is a PS3 exclusive.”
Don’t worry, that’s exactly the point I was trying to make, as I covered Hashimoto’s comments way back when.

In fact, reliable sources know for sure that Final Fantasy 13 has been in development for the Xbox 360 for quite a while, for the exact same reason that they know Metal Gear Solid 4 has been in development for the Xbox 360 ever since early 2007. That reason is because there are dozens of developers who are working on the project, and they often talk about what they work on, and are overheard.
Remember, Hideo Kojima pointed out at the Leipzig Convention in Germany, “Metal Gear Solid 4 has not been officially announced for the Xbox 360…’Yet.’”
The people in the audience knew what he meant when Kojima said that. It meant that Metal Gear Solid 4 will “eventually” be “officially” announced for the Xbox 360, likely with a different subtitle for a name. In fact, the reliable sources have confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4 will have extra missions not found in the Playstation 3 version.
Final Fantasy 13 will not be available for either the Playstation 3 or the Xbox 360 in 2008. But, when it is released, it will be available for the Xbox 360. Too many reliable sources have confirmed this. Those are the same sources that confirmed games like Devil May Cry 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Fight Night 3, Assassins Creed, and others were not really Playstation 3 exclusive games. In reality, each of those was released for the Xbox 360. The same thing will happen with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13.

It’s official, Final fantasy 13 will be on the 360 at the same time the PS3 version comes out. I guess we will not be waiting such a long time after all.

Nomura’s talking about Versus when he means FF13 is PS3-exclusive.
I’m not too peeved that 13 is also going to the Xbox 360; that is the most economic-wise choice for Square Enix. No one can deny how poorly the PS3 is doing at the moment (to the dismay of longtime PS3 supporters and owners). As long as it’s coming out for PS3 as well, I’m chill with it.

Listen, its not rocket science you MORONS. At the E3 Convention (2008 this year), it was OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED that Final Fantasy 13 WILL be released on both platforms, and even better, IT WILL BE RELEASED AT THE EXACT SAME TIME ON BOTH THE 360 AND THE PS3. There is no use in fervently denying this FACT, it has already been decided, announced to the public and now, it is a DONE DEAL. Look up 2008 E3 convention/FF 13 and you can read all about it for yourselves. Poor PS3 guys, you get all the crappy games and when it finally comes down to you possibly getting a decent title all to yourself (A.K.A. HALO or GEARS of WAR or Ninja Gaiden 2)they decide to release it on the best console in the world!…The 360 Baby! Yeah! Tell those nippers they lost in WW2 (in which during this time my Grandfather plugged a few ****) and they are losing again, SALES WISE, with their PS3 (its literally in last place amongst the three consoles in sales….Wii, Xbox 360, PS3).
