Damn Filesonic!
Paid for Premium lifetime access features but they shut down the file sharing feature and REFUSES to answer any emails personally (getting the same “canned” email responses!) and REFUSES to refund the membership fee!
Hope the company shuts down!

Do your research. At least 15 cloud/file sharing sites either went down entirely, removed sharing, or blocked US IPs from accessing their site.

Anyone who relies on the cloud to save their files without backups is asking for trouble. Unless you have it in your hand, you have no control over it, so if someone is “clouding” their personal files and this happens (or the system goes down, or goes out of business, or it’s hacked, or it geofences itself like Uploaded just did) don’t say they weren’t warned.

I think the US governement outta keep their hands out of anothers pockets the US deserves all the flak they get from other countries, the US is trying to “muscle” their way into everything they can think of. No wonder there are being hassled by angry citizens (i.e. montana freemen etc…). They should quit trying to think they are “King shit” in the world!!! I also understand they are trying to muscle their way into personal lives where the hell is the right to privacy that our forefathers fought for???

It’s temporary, and sites like Filesonic are panicking.

Let’s face it, it will just leave a big gap for the Chinese to fill. And you think the Chinese are going to “co-operate with the Feds” the next time Uncle Sam decides they’re going to try to indict one of these companies like the idiot New Zealand authorities did? Not a chance.

And even without being able to download stuff, most of us still won’t buy more games, movies, TV shows etc. THEY’RE TOO EXPENSIVE.

over dramatise this..

Megaupload was matching caches and only storing one copy of an uploaded file if
uploaded multiple times and then simply gave out multiple links to the same
single saved file.

Megaupload faulted by only deleting a single reported LINK when given a takedown
request. This contravenes the safe harbour agreement and the authorities
pounced on this as “evidence” for the rest of their accusations.
Maybe filesonic etc were doing the same?

If it is what everyone thinks it is then expect youtube to be taken down and
Google owners to be dragged across the coals in front of the media. No I dont
think that will happen either.

Megaupload got cocky and they got burnt for it. Its not a massive deal and the megauplaod “fall-out” is not going to be felt passed anyone with a sensible business model (i.e. 99% of storage sites).

@les:twitter .. you think this is NWO? I’m not saying it couldn’t be.. as we all know they’re going to have to control the media real soon now.. It’s just not their signature, though. Their tactic seems to have been to get people willingly to adopt their plans..
They do control the media industry though… so perhaps.
