FIC CW001 10.4-inch netbook clears FCC

With the netbook segment over-saturated with options, it's proving difficult for manufacturers to differentiate their machines.  Sadly FIC's 10.4-inch CW001, freshly revealed by the FCC, doesn't quite manage it, with the same old Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 2.5-inch SATA-II hard-drive and an ExpressCard slot.  Unfortunately, contrary to some reports, there's no integrated optical drive (which would have at least given the CW001 something to crow about).

Other specs include two USB 2.0 ports, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.  There are also audio in/out connections, VGA and ethernet, together with an integrated microphone and Intel 945 GSE graphics.  OS in Windows, most likely XP Home, and the 4-cell battery is rated for up to 4.5hrs runtime.

FIC (First International Computer) is a majority owner in Everex, so it's possible that the CW001 could appear with Cloudbook branding.  No details of availability or price, though.
