The nifty thing about the CSR Elite Wheel (not to be confused with the CSR Wheel) is that the motion/rotation sensors measure the steering axis rotation and not the motor rotation. Belts will skip and stretch but an axis mounted sensor will provide much more accurate steering input. That and the much higher metal to plastic ratio of the Elite vs. the standard CSR and other Fanatec wheels has me guardedly optimistic that this will be a solid performer.

Im sorry, but I just have to do this! I hate to rant and rave in a negative fashion but I have just had it with the quality of this product! I have been very patient and more than reasonable, now that is done.
I purchased a CSR wheel about a month ago, at first it was great, but that was short lived...After about 6-8 hours of use the wheel would no longer retain center calibration. At one moment 10 degrees left would be center, then 5 degrees right then 15 degrees left and so on. So I did everything I was supposed to do with esupport and had prompt and satisfactory support. They sent me the 706 firmware, that fixed nothing...so I had a new wheel with in a week, like I said, great support.
The new wheel came and was in worse condition than the one I had. The HAT joystick was flopping all over the place(no spring tension at all) and did not have a center click, ALL ALL ALL the buttons and center Forza badge were skewed left and right. Forgive me, but what a piece of ****. So I tried the new wheel running the 706 firmware and thought well at least it works right? Well after 4-6 hours of use it is now doing the same thing. This wheel will not retain its calibration. This is with all systems and games.
I am surprised at such an expensive wheel ($250) is such a $****y piece of plastic... I am sorry Fanatec but your choice in manufacturer has lost you a customer. I am going to get a refund and buy something else like a T500. I need something more reliable if I want to be competitive in iRacing and other sim interests.
