It seems like Facebook and Foursquare are being hypocritical with their criticism if they make this data available in this way but don’t allow someone to make an app that use the data how they allow. They just don’t want a creepy sounding app to be out there that uses their data, even if they are themselves making this data available to everyone. If they don’t want this creepy lack of privacy to be “exposed” then they shouldn’t allow it at all. Of course they won’t do that if they don’t have to because they make money off their business model that includes that kind of thing.

While using this app may smack of desperation, there remains the fact that it’s easily defeated by women who don’t like being “stalked.” It’s simple… You don’t check into foursquare and location tag yourself on Facebook 24 freaking 7!! God you people are morons… you tell the whole internet what you’re doing every minute of every day and are turn around and act surprised by stuff like this?!?

Think of it as the digital equivalent of Orwell’s book that finally hammered home the worries of continuous surveillance. This just reveals the horrors that is the permissive defaults of facebook and similar.
