Explay WVGA pico-projector module will hit phones/cameras in Feb 2011

It's been a long time since we've heard from Explay about their super-small Colibri pico-projector module, but the company has piped up again with the latest unit.  The new laser pico module supports WVGA 852 x 480 resolution, 14 lumens brightness and up to 70-inch projections, and will apparently begin showing up in commercial products come February 2011.

It'll be followed up by a WXGA 1366 x 768 version, with 25 lumens brightness, in late 2011.  A second version of the WVGA model, using a more powerful laser, will supposedly manage 20 lumens.  Power consumption is apparently around 1.8W, and the whole thing measures in at a compact 7mm thick.

Explay expect cellphones and digital cameras to be among the devices sporting their picos come early next year.  No word on how expensive each module is.
