Equil Smartpen 2 still available, ships this month

Earlier this year at CES, we got our hands on the Equil Smartpen. The physical-to-digital writing instrument was pretty impressive, but like any good product, the Smartpen can improve. Equil's Smartpen 2 looks to make some necessary adjustments, and even breaks free of the pen-and-paper world as a stylus. Currently enjoying a funding run on Indiegogo that has seen Smartpen 2 lap it”s goal several times over, the Smartpen 2 is coming soon — but you still have time to snap one up via crowdfunding!

The Smartpen 2 works by recording your pen strokes, and translating them to digital text. It works with Windows, iOS, Android, and OS X, and syncs with iCloud, Evernote, or Dropbox.

You take the Smartpen's ultrasonic and infrared sensor and attach it to your paper. In recording your strokes, as well as the sensitivity in which you do (or don't) write, Smartpen brings your actual drawing or text to life digitally.

Equil has two apps for Smartpen 2: Note, and Sketch. Both are likely self explanatory from their naming, with Sketch making use of Smartpen 2's pressure sensitivity.

Samrtpen and Smartpen 2 have the same form factor, and are held nicely in a triangle charging case. You can still get one for $119 via their Indiegogo campaign, which saves you $50 off the retail price. It also delivers this month, but you might want to hurry — the campaign ends Sunday.
