Epson P-6000 and P-7000 photo viewers get tethered shooting capability

Epson is most known for its line of printers and expensive ink cartridges. The company also makes a full line of scanners and other products as well including the P-6000 and P-7000 photo viewers aimed at professional photographers. Epson announced today that the two photo viewers, which we have talked about before, have gained a slick new feature.

Both of the photo viewers can now be used in tethered mode via USB. The new mode allows the photographer to connect the DSLR camera to the photo viewers via a USB cable and the photos are automatically saved to the viewer as well as the cameras internal memory card. This allows the pictures to be backed up automatically as shots are taken.

Both of the photo viewers have a 4-inch screen and the only difference between the P-6000 and P-7000 is storage capacity and price. The P-6000 has 80GB of storage space and the P-7000 has 160GB. The devices sell for $599.99 and $799.99 respectively.
