If you’re in the market for a new printer, the Epson Artisan 700 and 800 are two fantastic choices that take the all-in-one printer to a new level of sophistication. With a black finish that practically makes them look as good as furniture, these printers are stand outs.

The 800 model has WiFi, can print Ultra Hi-Definition photos, a 7.8″ smart touch panel that lights up only the buttons applicable to your current print job, and has an Automatic Document Feeder. You can adjust your photos via the touch panel as well.
Both models support printing directly on inkjet printable CDs and DVDs and can print up to 38 pages per minute, 4″ x 6″ photos in 10 seconds and 8″ x 10″ photos in 50 seconds. Memory card readers are also included, along with image editing software, WiFi and ethernet networking. The only big difference here is the 700 doesn’t have a full fax. You can pre-order these printers on Amazon right now and will be available in September. The 800 model will retail for $299 and the 700 will sell for $199.

Just got my new printer today. The Epson Artisan 700 is amazing. Didn’t wan’t to pay the price for the 800. Prints pretty fast, prints excellent photos, probably due to the high number of different ink cartridges, compared to one ink cartridge for all colors in other printers. I like the option of high-capacity ink cartridges in this thing. The only complaint I have is the nice shiny finish doesn’t look very scratch resistant. I’m going to have to keep my kids away from this thing. Almost too much money for a home printer, but a very good value due to all the high-end features. I’m also waiting to see how stable the drivers are. HP drivers are bad, hoping Epson drivers are good. Probably has too many features for casual printing. I’m going to have to find new ways to push this thing to the limit.

Dusty, you made me laugh because you kept calling the printer a “thing”.
Anyway I am going to order the same printer, I called yesterday to order it but the “optional duplexer” was not in stock and I want them to come together.
I would like to hook it up with the “continues ink supply system” (CISS), but some of Epson’s printers reject any other inks but their own, so I have to see how it goes. Anyway glad to hear you like it, I was a little scared. Take care

I purchased the Artisan 800 on September 18, 2008. I have had approximately eight
NeutralEpson prints on the course of many years and have been pleased. Prior to yesterday, I was using the RX680. I say the Artisan 800, did my research and was pleasantly pleased with what I saw. I then went through the process to see if there were any differnces in prices for the companies selling the printer. Just for FYI, I purchased my printer from Office Max and they matched the Buy Best online price of $249.99. So far so good, the printer is very fast, sleek looking and pretty easy to handle. I love the touch screen and having options readily accessible. I had two other Epson printers that allowed you to print on a CD/
DVD with a separate adapter. I love the fact that the tray for CD/DVD printing is self contained. Everyting is really easily accesible. However, I do have a few concerns. The main paper tray seems to be very flimsy for such a costly home printer. The software installation process that will allow you to install the printer as a wireless printer is very time consuming. Epson does give you step by step instructions and pictures. I excited about the ease of use and very concerned about how fragile specific parts appear. I love the top tray that allows for handsfree scanning and copying. The fax option is outstanding. If you are thinking about purchasing this print, do it, i believe you will be very pleased.

I am considering this printer for dvd printing. I was wondering if a ciss system will work with this printer.

I just got my Epson Artisan 800 yesterday, and I just love it! Had been dealing with a cheap Epson C86 for a few years now, and have had to go to a copy shop around the corner to send faxes at $1 per page. And every time I wanted to scan something, I had to make room for my scanner and printer on my desk. Now I have everything on just about the same footprint as the old printer. Love the digital displays. and just today had to download a pdf, sign it and send it back as another pdf. which took me all of two minutes, print, put it on the glass, scanned to pdf. poof.. done.

have had TWO brand-new Artisan 800s within one week and they both failed miserably. The first one did a fine job of printing a few pages–then it started jamming every page the third day I had it. I took it back to the store for an exchange. It was out of stock–I had to wait for another one to be delivered. This one wouldn’t even work right out of the box! I installed it and attempted to print a test page, which came out blank. An hour on the phone with Technical Support proved fruitless–the rep had me clean the print nozzles three times, clean the heads three times, then decided the printer had a hardware error. Yet a THIRD printer is supposed to be delivered next week.
I purchased the Epson Artisan 800 specifically for a very large job with a tight deadline. As of today, after purchasing TWO brand-new, supposedly top of the line, Epson printers, I’m dead in the water with no printer.
I’m only rating one star because I can’t rate ZERO!
The next time, I’ll purchse from a company with a better quality control track record.

Well I got my Artisan 800 this week too… and I love it!
I live in Canada, where the 800 is currently 199.99 Cdn$ at BestBuy.ca and their stores, that’s currently under 160 US$
It looks hot, but the photos on good photo paper are quite something too – better than my canon dye sub. I like the fact you can load it with multiple paper sizes. For the artisan 800 – $160 is a great price for all the features you get.

I have had the Epson Artisan 700 wireless all in one for about a month and I still cannot get it to work. I have spent many long (and expensive) hours with their technical support but to no avail. I finally got my desktop hooked up wirelessly, but I still have not been able to use my laptop wirelessly. Their technical support phone number is not toll-free, it is in California and I had a very hard time understanding them as they all have a very heavy accent.
I took it back to Best Buy and they turned me over to their Geek Squad who could not find the problem either. I believe this printer to be a terrible product and their technical support was only frustrating to me. i spent over 2 hrs and then they wanted to transfer me and then hung up.on me.

I just got the Artisan 700 2 days ago and was soooo excited to get it hooked up. But sadly I am terribly disappointed in the photo quality. I returned a $70 printer for this $200 one, because I had read so many great reviews on the Artisan series and wish I still had my $70 one. The pictures come out discoloured and blotchy. It looks like oil in water…if anyone knows how to fix this problem, let me know!
