Epson announces new PowerLite 83V+ projector

Epson makes projectors for all sorts of uses from the home theater to the boardroom and classroom. The company has announced a new projector today aimed at the classroom that is low cost and packs in nice features. The projector is called the PowerLite 83V+.

The projector has 2,200 lumens of light output and has a XGA resolution. A built-in 10-watt speaker delivers clear sound and crisp audio without needing an external speaker that takes up more room.

The projector supports closed captioning and has RS-232c control. The projector has 1.2x optical zoom and +/- 30 degree vertical keystone correction automatically. 3LCD technology is used in the projector for better image quality and it uses 25% less power per lumen of brightness than DLP chip technology. The MSRP for the projector is $649.
