It’s been a while since I logged into World of Warcraft. Some would say it’s been too long, while others tend to think I haven’t been away long enough. I tend to agree with the latter. It’s not that it’s a bad game or anything, it just has a tendency to suck the soul out of any living being that enters the realm of Azeroth. For those of you that cannot escape its clutches, I do have some good news. Blizzard has announced a PVP contest with a $75,000 booty.

I was never much into PVPing, so this contest really has no appeal to me. Beginning in April Blizzard will open up a 3v3 Arena contest for all who wish to enter. What’s really exciting about this is that the contest will depend solely on skill, and not who’s quested for months on end for the best gear. They are going to achieve this by opening up the contest on servers that allow you to create a level 70 with the best gear available.

I admit that it is somewhat tempting, as it does depend heavily on skill, rather than gear. Perhaps I’ll scrape together enough change in my couch for the $20 entry fee.
