Engineers create sweet Ferrari F1 racing sim using robot arm

A robot arm has been used by a couple engineers to create one sweet racing simulation. The arm holds a cockpit and lets the user feel what it is like to drive a Ferrari F1 car.

The arm in the picture attached is a shot without the force feedback racing wheel that is attached in the video. The robot arm puts the players 7 feet in the air and they are in the seat of a Ferrari F2007 car.

The robot arm simulates the motion of the F1 car around the track. The researchers that designed the system say that the intent was to study how humans interact with the sensation of movement. I say these guys are gamers and just needed to find a way to get someone to pay for the build of the coolest racing simulator ever.
