Imagine talking to someone who’s wearing these things. NYC is concerned about iPhones being swapped off ppl in the subway. Will you look more masculine as you add a strap to these Glasses to avoid getting them swiped. Good luck, but no.

A quick Internet search shows that “emasculate” also means to ‘deprive of vigor’ etc. It does not always mean the degradation of the male identity.

Also, has anyone considered that maybe the guy just used the wrong word?

how much radiation does that thing beam into the right side of your brain? smartphones today are pretty horrible in terms of that, but at least you dont have to hold it to your ear all day long.

Only when used in the specific context of a man does the second definition apply. Were you assuming he was only referring to men because he’s a man?

Brin’s comments are peculiar and smack of frat-boy sexism. What is so masculine about interpersonal relationships that they can be “emasculated”? Is he afraid he’d be “feminine” when he uses the phone a lot.

Also, the habit of checking information on the phone is easily transferred to checking information through an eyepiece. It’s the HABIT, Brin, not the device!

I wonder. How many people with Google Glasses will just stop mid stride in the street to check an email, listen to a message, or do something with this device…if anything it becomes more invasive and immediate… you’ll get notification in your face.
Also I wonder how the law enforcement agencies, and regulators will handled someone with one of these on when they’re driving?
