ELF VRdrone takes selfies from the air

People love to take selfies and lots of people use products that make it easier to take selfies like the much maligned selfie stick. If you want to get really high tech with your selfie staking, a new drone called the ELF VRdrone can take selfies for you from the air. The small flying drone can also take pictures of other things if you are so inclined.

As the ELF VRdrone name implies, the drone supports virtual reality use if you have one of the cardboard headsets lying around. ELF can also be used to record HD video footage and the flying platform is hackable so you can customize it to fit your needs.

ELF connects to your smartphone using an app that is available for both Android and iOS devices. Connectivity is made using Bluetooth 4.0. Owners of the drone need no piloting skills to fly the ELF. The drone app is able to convert the footage you take into a side-by-side view so that you can watch the footage using your AR headset.

ELF VRdrone is on Indiegogo right now seeking $20,000 and has raised over $50,000 so far with 57 days to go on the project. The ELF versions left at this time is the Developer kit or higher with one full kit you build yourself starting at $65. Shipping is expected to start in July 2015.
