When I was a kid, I didn’t like reruns of the original Star Trek series. I did enjoy watching the feature films with my dad though and I really liked Star Trek: The Next Generation when it was on the air. Most all of the movies and episodes of the varied series have a tricorder involved in some way.

Collectibles manufacturer eFX has announced that it will be adding a line of Star Trek collectibles to its offerings alongside the Star Wars collectibles it already sells. The products are officially licensed from CBS Consumer Products and will be available later this year.

The first product in the Star Trek line will be the Mark IX Tricorder that was seen in the Star Trek: first Contact flick. Pre-orders for the tricorder will begin in September and the production run will be limited to only 1000 pieces. The collectibles will be offered as a signature edition signed by actor Brent Spiner. Pricing is unknown at this time.
