EchoStar unveils world's slimmest digital TV recorder

EchoStar has unveiled the world's slimmest DVR called the HDT-610R. The DVR is only 14 mm deep making it easy to fit into crowded entertainment centers in any living room. Despite the DVR's small stature, it has all the features the TV fans want and will be up for pre-order the Amazon, John Lewis, and Maplin starting on May 4 in the UK.

The box supports Freeview+ with free TV access and allows access to 50 high-quality digital four in HD. The box allows the pausing and rewinding of live TV and can record complete series with series link. Inside the box is a 500 GB hard drive.

The 500 GB of storage allows the recording of 300 hours of video. Then box also has dual tuners allow the watching of the program while recording another. It also supports the BBC iPlayer and on-demand content through BoxOffice365. Pricing details should be unveiled tomorrow, and it's not clear if the box will come to other countries.
