I’m pretty sure just about every American girl has owned one of these at one time or another or at least encountered one. I owned one myself, although mine was shaped like a microwave oven instead of the conventional oven. Turns out they are getting recalled due to some children getting their fingers caught and burnt on the door.

Only the ones sold between May 2006 and February 2007 are getting recalled. “Easy-Bake has received 29 reports of children getting their hands or fingers caught in the oven’s opening, including five reports of burns.” I know this may come as a shock to some of you, however, think about it for a second. I don’t know about everyone else but I was a curious child and a dumb one. I would reach my hand in their all the time soon as my Mom turned her back, I was getting my fingers pinched off in that little metal trap.

Besides those little cakes were horrible, did they even have real products (sugar, flour) in them? If I were a kid now, I would get one of those cool ovens that makes really gross molds of bugs and other such disgusting creatures. Then again I’m not exactly the average girl.
