EA clarifies report that listed KotOR as an upcoming BioWare title

I’ve got some bad news for those of you looking forward to a new title in the KotOR series. Apparently the EA report that listed BioWare as working on a new installment of the game was misinterpreted.

An EA representative said that “the slide in John’s presentation is titled ‘Best Creative Talent’–it addresses future and past titles. KotOR, Black, Boogie, Skate and some other titles on the slide speak to past portfolio releases and the pedigree of the studio but do not specifically address future sequels.”

While EA didn’t actually say that Bioware wasn’t working on a KotOR game, they gave no indication that they were working on it either. Looks like I got all excited yesterday for nothing.
