Duracell's Star Wars commercial is better than the prequels

The video spot you're about to see takes on Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Christmas morning. Therein you'll find the fight for the Republic, as executed by a couple of youngling Jedi wielding some fabulous battery-laden lightsabers. They're using Duracell batteries, of course, as the video was made for Duracell batteries with licensing from Lucasfilm. This story is just one minute long, but it'll thrill, it'll chill, and it'll make you understand the true nature of The Force. With batteries.

What's interesting about this commercial isn't just that it's Star Wars, but The Force Awakens specifically. All along the wall of the young man's bedroom you'll see Star Wars merchandise. Toys from several generations past, but mostly in the current era – The Force Awakens, Rebels, and the like.

R2-D2 and C-3PO are from The Force Awakens as well. You can tell by the red arm.

Down the hallway you'll find several First Order Stormtroopers on the attack, and in the living room the kids' mother and father, each jamming batteries into different Star Wars toys.

Once outside, this brother and sister – the sister obviously pretending to be our hero Rey, hereby a Force user – find themselves surrounded by enemies. We'll assume they'll be covered with Star Wars Band-Aids by the end of this adventure, too.

While we see Rey using The Force (in the form of a Force Push) and we see AT-ATs from the old trilogy mixed with troopers and vehicles from the new film, we don't think this necessarily means that both will be in the film. For now we can dream.
