I would have to say that one of the longest-running jokes in gaming has to be Duke Nukem Forever. The game has been in development since sometime in the 1850’s and will be released whenever 3D Realms is good and ready. We’ve seen hints that the game is still being worked on and is getting somewhere near completion, but nothing solid. The guys over at ShackNews, however, have actually seen the game.
Okay, so they haven’t seen the completed game, because as you would imagine, it’s not done yet. They did see the current build of the game including several different DNF gameplay scenarios, mechanics, and environments being demonstrated.
Apparently they were rather impressed with the game and seem to think that it will stand out visually from the rest of the crowd. Of course if history repeats itself, what they saw will soon be scrapped and work will begin anew on the title.

3D Realms should keep in mind that since the end of the world is in 2012, they should try to release it at least a year before then so we have 12 months to enjoy the game!

I was a duke fan when it was released in 1996. Now i’m a fan of any game that comes out when in 2 years Promised. If duke ever comes out, which know one knows. I bet the old duke nukem fans out there will never care. Remember when sony playstation 3 promised dual video ex… and release dates which never came, This caused a lot unhappy customers towards the company. Same gos for the gaming market. Good gaming programers will stick around where the money is! As far as duke nukem in the making for the last 12 years? Are not making anything right now! Maybe thats why its never coming out? Forever…..
Duke nukem is gonna be in a rest home by the time it comes out.
And everyone who rmebers it is gonna be getting meals on wheels and waiting for bingo night.
We should be on DNF 5 by now instead of Did Not Finish 1.
Now unless this game is the game of the millineum it will be released as the joke of the last century.
