Droid Xtreme Hands-On

The Motorola handsets keep getting leaked! Starting with a phone lost in a gym, now we're all the way up to the handset getting some major hands-on time, where it manages to stay still long enough to take some pretty nice still photos. The Motorola Droid Xtreme, or Droid X if you prefer, is obviously a real thing, and with this set of photos, we finally get some "confirmed" specs. They may not be confirmed by Motorola yet, but that has to be soon.

The Motorola Droid Xtreme is supposedly one of two devices Motorola is primed to launch next month. While the Droid 2 has already been photographed, the Droid Xtreme has taken a bit more of a blurry cam approach to the Internet so far. Not this time. Thanks to our fine friends at Gadget University, we finally get to see what the Droid Xtreme looks like, up close and personal (with no blurriness). How are the specs looking? Something like this: A 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, Android 2.1, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and a new version of MOTOBLUR. And, on the back, while we can't say for certain, it sure does look like there's an 8MP camera there.

Gadget University makes a note that this new version of BLUR isn't as bad as we think it is, and that makes us wonder if Motorola has finally fine tuned their custom User Interface to be something that's not more aggravating than helpful. If they have, and it's running on something as powerful, and beastly as what we have here in photo form, then consider us pretty interested. Is this the Motorola device we've all been waiting for to take over the original DROID's thrown? Only time will tell.
