The new 3g/lte combined chipset ohones will hit in March making lte phones extremely battery efficient. Moto had no choice but to keep the Razr relevant to recouop its R&D on theRazr. They really should untether themselves from Verizon and establish the Razr brand qcross all carriers like what Samsung did with the Galaxy. Motorola’s marriage to Verizon is the main reason they are losing money.

Everything bought today is obsolete tomorrow. If you like something, you buy it knowing it will be old news very soon. I love my Razr even with its short battery life. I can always plug it in somewhere if I feel I need to. I text, play games, and make calls all day long and run low on battery but have never run out. It’s a very cool phone and I can do amazing things with it because it rooted.

Definitely not a slap in the face!
I bought one of the early Droid Razrs . Very thin and the battery is very good. lasts longer than the one I had in my Galaxy S. The Galaxy S by the way had no 4g. The Razr came with Internal 16gb and 16gb sd card included.Never saw one advertised with anything less. After getting used to the slim design of the Razr anything thicker seems clunky. The phones of the future will no doubt be even thinner. Great phone no regrets. If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up! Only a slap in the face to the competition!!

My problem is they touted the original razor’s battery life.. it was supposed to be so great…. well it isn’t… now they fix the phone with a a better battery.. the specs are the same.. that is why it’s a load of crap…

If I was writing a comment this would be me 100% me. I too held on to my Droid X until I splurged on this Droid Razor Maxx. I know there will be a better phone in about 2 months but I will be content with my Maxx. It is such a huge upgrade over my Droid X. Enough to keep me satisfied for 3 or 4 years at least.

This whole article is retarded. Of course Motorola is going to come out with a new and improved Razr…thats how they make money and appeal to more customers. Some people want thin and some people want a long battery life. Now Motorola has both bases covered. This is why I waited to buy the Razr Maxx and not the Razr. If you are an intelligent consumer you would have researched the Razr enough to know the Razr Maxx was coming out about 3 months ago, because thats what I did. Sometimes impatience and stupidity is expensive…as it should be.

There’s a difference from releasing a newer version of a phone once a year or even 6 months after the other phone, but at least change some things…don’t just make the same exact phone with a bigger battery and charge the same price. I bought my Droid Razr a little over 30 days ago and now this comes out a month later?
It will hurt both companies soon though through all the excess inventory because who would want the Droid Razr for $300 when you can have double the battery with the SAME EXACT phone for $300 also. Not to mention you can get a 16 GB micro SD for $15 on Amazon. (When Verizon is charging $100).
You can replace the phone with the MAXX if you have had it for less than 14 days.
At least Verizon can give us a credit or some kind of money back on this.
ALSO this MAXX phone was hidden from the public until not even 2 weeks ago at CES and all the while advertising the Razr at the same time?

Come on who are we kidding, the RAZR stopped being relevant the second VZW put the Galaxy Nexus on sale. For the same $300 the GN is a FAR better device and overall experience which doesn’t have to deal with mountains of preinstalled crapware or motorola’s horrible skinning of android. That and it uses ICS and benefits from batteries that you can swap yourself.

Ford did something similar with the 2010 and 2011 Mustangs.
Less than 4 months after releasing the aesthetically redesigned 2010 Mustang (to compete with the Camaro and Challenger), Ford announces a new engine and power overhaul which gives both the V6 and V8 100 more HP (and greatly improved handling), beating the competition, keeping the same body style as the 2010, and keeping the price the same as the older model.
How do think the buyers of the 2010 Mustangs felt about Ford after that one?

Idk I don’t know why people buy a phone the second it comes out. You need to wait. It’s just logic. And another thing, whenever you do bite the bullet and buy the best there is, something better is always coming right around the corner. No avoiding that. So be happy with your purchase. I’m glad I waited though :)
