Come on guys it’s a $600.00 phone your getting for $299.99 with a 2yr Contract . That’s a savings of over $300. Samsung is the one that determines the price based on what it costs to Verizon. Verizon pays Samsung a lot more than $300 for the phone. Who’s going to eat the cost? You are that’s who.

Asking if it’s worth $300 isn’t the right question. You should ask, “but is it worth $700?”

Don’t be fooled by the subsidized pricing that cell companies give. That’s just a down payment toward what you really are going to pay for the phone. How much is that? I have no clue since cell phone companies don’t want us to know. It may be $700, it may be $500, but it certainly isn’t $300. They aren’t in the business of losing money.

Interesting entry in Verizon’s lineup; I’m not one of those “gotta have it on release day” early-adopter types (I’ll leave that to the Apple crowd *g*), but I will be looking to upgrade to a LTE-capable phone around the beginning of next year, so it’ll be worth keeping an eye on the Charge to see how the 4G field looks 9 months from now.

I prefer the look and feel of the Incredible S myself.
But the Charge does look awesome (they sooo should have kept the code name, Stealth, because it looks like a stealth jet)

Is there anyone else here besides me that can’t get over Verizon charging $300 bucks for a phone with a single core hummingbird processor and then locking people into a two year contract? 4G or no 4g, I really don’t like the trend here. I am betting this phone won’t sell until prices come down.

Come on, sunlight legibility is not affected by the number of subpixels??? I thought it was all due to the protective glass getting thinner and inching closer to the panel… Also, I cannot believe those REAL buttons didn’t get their own damn article, let alone a simple derogatory note, come on
