I too have been waiting for the new Droid Bionic to launch for months and it's finally here. I go into the Verizon store to check it out and the touch screen still has the same issues as the Droid, Droid X, and Droid X2. That is the responsiveness. Very disappointing touch screen! There is a little test that anyone can do to test the responsiveness of the Bionic screen for smooth fluidity. On the Droid Bionic just go to any screen that allows you to scroll up and down and take one finger on your hand and slide it back and forth quickly up and down the scrolling screen in a repetitive motion about 10 times quickly. You will see that the screen will slightly freeze and get stuck at times when this is done. If you do this same test on an identical scrolling screen for a LG Revolution, Samsung, HTC Thunderbolt or IPhone(Which is the Superior phone for touch screen fluid responsiveness .) you will see these have smooth fluid motion during this test. The Droid Bionic touch screen doesn't even compare to any of these. You'd think that the time the Droid Bionic was out of commission, Motorola would have focused on correcting and fixing this important issue. Instead of opting for mediocrity.

It does, except Nexus Prime running Ice Cream will be out soon. By then,
all existing Android phones will be measured up against it. I just got a $829.99 iPåd2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37" HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.
I use BÏDFiRsT. COM

According to the precedents set by apple, the iPhone 5 won't be a 4G phone. It will be a nice, upbeat 3G phone with some new features to nickle and dime apple users with while fooling them into thinking that the previous generation was vastly obsolete. Apple users should note that every other iPhone generation has something meaningfull to contribute to the product lineup, and that the iPhone is a generally high quality entry-level phone for users that don't care about bleeding-edge performance.

On a side note, the Droid Bionic is going to be rendered obsolete. It will be the top phone for the next 3-4 months, but either HTC or Samsung will come out with something to best it with updated tech. Current bionic users will probably recieve the "Ice Cream Sandwich" update when it rolls out for general use, if not a little earlier, due in part to the motorola mobility aquisition by Google.

Keep your eyes peeled in the next year or so for the offspring of the motorola mobility and google merger. It will be fantastic.

Hello true believers. I was eligible for an upgrade about a year agomand couldn't bring myself to upgrade before a decent 4G device was onmthe market. My previous phone was a Blackberry 8330. The Motorola DroidmBionic is obviously in a different league. I am a Costco member, so I
took advantage of their deal with all the accessories. I paid $279, $20mless than the Verizon Wireless retailers.

Amazon's price is even better if you won't use all the accessories that Costco throws in for free. I
was hesitant to be buy the phone before actual hands-on reviews but I took the Nestea plunge. I am a realist and I expected some bugs, but I have been on the Motorola Droid Bionic for the past 3 days and I can't find anything wrong with it. I have used friends' iPhone 4 and HTC Droid Incredible devices, so my frame of reference is not only a Blackberry.

The 4G is incredibly fast with the dual core processor. I don't get 4G coverage at home, so I just connect through my WiFi. I do get 4G at work and won in every competition with other 3G devices. I
convinced at least 3 co-workers to get the Motorola Droid Bionic. I highly recommend the Motorola Droid Bionic. Stay thirsty my friends.

P.S. If you will buy this smartphone I suggest at: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005IQOFW0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=slashgear.com-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B005IQOFW0

There is a nicely designed extended back and larger battery for this design, From MOTO. LTE eats power, so it seems natural to plan for that and get it. What a plethora of docks and add ons they offer. Apart from the car dock, do many people buy these?

I have a Galaxy S2 in the UK on 3G, which is a great device, but I wish it had a qhd screen and a better keyboard. I bought SwiftKey X to fix this but it has computability issues with several Samsung native applications; these seem to be a Samsung issue, which is why SwiftKey still have not fixed them.

I totally disagree with you in this instance, Nelly189. Usually yes, if you wait for something better you can end up waiting forever. If the Bionic came out in April like it was supposed to, I would totally have umped on it right then and there, since it would have been much better than anything else on Verizon at that time, and better than anything in the near future. It got delayed 5 months however, and now it's right in the same timeframe as the releases of potentially better phones. Now, it's worth waiting another month, maybe two max. If something better doesn't come along by then, then I'd say go for the Droid Bionic. Chances are though, in the next month or two you'll have phones that will clearly beat out the Bionic.

Q1 2012 will be even bigger, as you'll have LTE phones that are running NVIDIA's Kal-El quad core setup, and those things will rip apart anything out for the rest of the year.

,..awesome,, I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow.
I had been looking forward to the Bionic for my upgrade to 4G LTE, but the shoddy camera results will be enough for me to wait and see what's coming to Big Red's line-up over the next few months. My next phone choice will DEMAND a great-performing camera. There's really no excuse for an otherwise top-notch phone to have such a crummy camera. Epic fail, Moto!

I do like the Bionic dual-power, though the screen resolution makes
reading tiny text rather challenging. Wouldn't you know that my home is
just 1-mile from current 4G LTE fringe coverage? (That figures!) But
this too shall pass...

-=-

But I am really annoyed that NONE of the new Mot Bionic docks will pass USB
data signals as did the old Droid-X docks! You could pass full power AND
data signals via USB on the older DX 89432N Vehicle and 89430N Desktop
docks, letting you mount the DX as a drive (or for RSD, etc).

-=-

So If you're thinking of using PdaNet via USB while your Bionic is
docked, you won't be doing that with a Motorola dock
today. Even the Bionic vehicle dock "MOTBIOMNT", with its deceptive
micro-USB input, *fails* to pass USB data (it only passes power.) Come
on MOT! Where's the thinking on that?

-=-

It does look like design changed in process for the Vehicle dock. The
dock itself arrives with a standard USB-A-male to Micro-USB-B-male cable
along with a 3.5mm audio cable. But the enclosed documentation shows a
custom-purpose Y-cable with a Micro-USB-B-male connected to dock; a
USB-A-male to the lighter-adapter charger; and a third branch leading
from the USB-A-male to a 3.5mm audio plug (to be plugged into your car's
AUX line-in.)

(Bionic = LINE1 + Droid X = LINE2) If people wait for the perfect phone, it will never come. Contrary to popular belief NONE of the iphones have been perfect or even close. Apple's first mistake was making it exclusive to AT&T's suck-azz network for so long before coming to Verizon. And in each version it left me with much to be desired. Remember at one point the iphone couldn't multitask while every other phones including those not considered top notch could do it for over a year. Still no adobe flash support, music & ringtones downloads add up and are expensive compared to free music downloads thru free mp3 downloader apps with android. Free voice turn by turn google maps, etc. (Iphone's Tom Tom App is $50 bucks) Larger screens etc. The list goes on. And this is straight out of the box, not rooting or hacking necessary which may brick your phone and void your warranty. I'm not an Apple hater or else I would not have purchased a 17" Macbook Pro for more than $3000, but unlike the iphone it's a more solid piece of equipment especial for anyone who works with film and music. As far as Samsung GS2, that became a fail in my book when Verizon didn't pick it up which equals No LTE. Not breaking my grandfathered unlimited data package to chase a phone with almost identical technical specs to a sub-par network. Will another phone be out shortly that could match or top Bionic, it's definitely likely and if I have to upgrade my 2nd line which is due in March 2012, I'll do it all over again.

,. awesomee, I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37" HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.
