Having seen various sites proclaiming R/C Helicopters the “must have” toy of this festive season, I’ll be interested to see the feedback from nations of new pilots trying to get to grips with their whirligigs.  There’s already some great comments back on our Micro Mosquito post - both positive and negative - and now I4U News have put together a review of the Draganfly Firefly model.

Draganfly Firefly R/C helicopter

They find it easier than other models to control - both in flight and in hovering - with a dedicated knob for fine-tuning directly from the remote.  Durability and battery life (around 20 minutes of flight for a half-hour’s charge) are also praised.

SlashGear would love to hear your comments about the R/C toys you’ve been playing with, so please do get in touch!

I’m a new rc helicopter pilot and I found the Firefly to be better than the Micro Mosquito (I’ve flown both) because the tail rotor on the MM actually makes it harder to fly. The Firefly lacks reverse but all you need to do is turn around 180 degrees. I prefer the Firefly.

I just got one of these for Christmas. I had to send the first one back ($10 shipping) because the controller seemed not to function and the Interactive toy Co. voice mailbox was full. The second one came and works fine, other than the fact that the bottom rotor always tilts down on one side, causing erratic flying. I have tried manipulating the ring to get the rotor to untilt, but with no success. It is a fun little copter, otherwise, and I am interested in getting a 4 channel copter now.

I’ve seen this product placed in a couple of TV shows. The latest was The Unit on Tuesday. It’s good to see the company is doing great.
