Back when Rock Band made its debut for the PS3, there was a huge stir about the controllers from the Guitar Hero franchise not playing nice with the game. While Harmonix tried to smooth things over by releasing a patch which would allow GH controllers to work, it never saw the light of day because of a dispute with Activision. With no resolution in sight, Ant Commandos has released their own guitar that will play on all versions of Guitar Hero and Rock Band for both the PS2 and the PS3.

The Double Range Guitar is one of those products that any fan of both series might want to look into (if they own a PS3). Sure, shelling out an extra $59.99 doesn’t seem like a lot of fun, but you could potentially eliminate several plastic controllers from your living room.
The guitar features the usual five fret buttons, strum bar and whammy bar that we’re used to for Guitar Hero, with the additional five frets and effects switch for Rock Band as well. Even better, it’s wireless so you can eliminate all of those messy cords from your living room too.

Just got mine today (got it shipped to the UK) and it is absolutely brilliant. The solo buttons are weird to get used to since I’m used to the normal buttons.
The instructions say to play GH3 on the PS3 you need to set the adaptor onto the PS3-GHIII seting, but I tried it on the other settings with my friend and it didn’t affect it’s preformance as far as I could tell. Even the PS button worked on the PS2 setting
The start button is apparently moved to prevent people accidently pausing, but because of how I hold it, I kept pausing it, and I didn’t do it on my Les Paul
Overall though, FREAKING GET IT!
