DOTA 2 errors out in longest match ever

The longest official competitive match of DOTA 2 has been played – this Friday – at a whopping 3-hours and 20 minutes long. This game went so long that the game's map began to error out – too much and too many items – making the game nearly unplayable. This match was fought between SFZ)) (Scaryfacezzzzz) and Cloud9, and ended with SFZ the victor, 104 to 63. Net worth advantage rested with SFZ)) by 4,796, and Roshan was most certainly alive – after dying 14 times. What's more, this is just the 2nd of three games, and the score is now tied.

The fact that something like this is tracked – and reported by sources like SlashGear (us) and Kotaku just goes to show the ever-growing significance of gaming as a sport. It's called eSports (for now), and eventually we'll just end up calling it a sport. Just like the X-games, skateboarding, extreme biking, that sort of thing.

Above you'll see a simple map of player builds over the course of the match. This is one part of the full build as listed by TrackDota this week. Below you'll see player net worth, gold, GMP and XPM. Behold the terrifying levels.

Around minute 166, according to Reddit user Arch, the game became "unplayable." But you don't just stop playing when you've already played for more than 2 hours.

"C9 try to go again. Sniper destroys Antimage. MAP STARTS TO BUG. DED GAEM," said Arch. "MIN 166, Game is literally unplayable, MAP IS BROKEN GUYS. MACROPYRES APPEARING OUT OF NOWHERE. RUBICK AND BRISSTLE ARE ON FIRE."

But then! Rosh dies, Bone7 dies, Antimage dies, reset, reset, minute 200, C9 gets throned. Endtimes.
