Donkey Kong is Back with a Vengeance!

What in the world? Nintendo has just (10 minutes ago or so) released two new sites for two new games: Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii, and Mario VS Donkey Kong Mini-Land Mayhem! for Nintendo DS. Looks like lots of fun for everyone! Get Thinkering!

As far as I can see, this Donkey Kong Returns game looks almost EXACTLY the same as it did when it was on the Super Nintendo - which - since it was completely amazingly fun then, I don't see many people complaining about. AND, if you pre-order it from GameStop, you get an exclusive Banana Pouch for your Wii Remote. Cute! While supplies last, of course. Some words from Nintendo:

With Diddy Kong™ by his side, help them barrel-blast, rail-ride, and ground-pound through over 70 gorgeous levels on Donkey Kong Island. Grab a friend or family member to enjoy two-player cooperative play. With secrets galore and intuitive controls that anyone can get into, it’s going to be bananas!

Then there's Mario VS Donkey Kong Mini-Land Mayhem which uses the Nindendo DS just the way I think it aught to be used: lots of pen action, lots of puzzles, fun wild action and a super ridiculously fun storyline. Wahoo!

It's a clash of gaming legends as Mario™ must save Pauline from Donkey Kong™ once again, with the help of the Mini Marios. Use your stylus to guide the marching Mini Marios through over 200 fun and puzzling levels. Place girders and springs, build ramps, and keep an eye out for those Mini Marios as you make your way through each level—but watch out for Donkey Kong's devilish traps. Tap into an endless stream of levels created by players like you, or build your own with the level editor. You can share levels through DS Wireless Communication, or through Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection*. Build fast, think faster, and make your mark in Mini-Land!

Donkey Kong Country Returns will be released November 21, while Mario VS Donkey Kong Mini-Land Mayhem is slated to be released November 14. Expect both of these to be sitting in your holiday socks. Check out the Mario game here: [mariovsdk] and the Donkey Kong game here: [donkeykong]
