Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze hits Wii U February 21

Nintendo has several iconic characters in the video game world that have been around since the early days of gaming. These are characters like Mario and Donkey Kong. Any child of the 80's will probably remember playing Donkey Kong in the arcade and hating that ape more often than not.

A new Donkey Kong game is set to hit the Nintendo Wii U on February 21. The game is Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. The game gets multiple characters including Donkey Kong, Dixie Kong, and Funky Kong among others. One of those other characters is Cranky Kong who is a playable character for the first time in the series history.

The game sees the Kongs trying to get home by trekking through multiple worlds on different islands. The islands are being attacked by invading Snowmads and the Kongs have to defeat them to win. The game has a dynamic camera that gives better view of the action to gamers.

Each of the characters has their own special powers. The game also supports local, cooperative multiplayer allowing one player to control Donkey Kong and the other to control one of the playable characters. The game is going to be available in retail outlets and on the Nintendo eShop for $49.99.
