Unfortunately most people commenting are very biased car nuts. Most consumers could care less about bringing out a new cuda, myself included, and I was a huge mopar musclecar guy. This car is meant for mass appeal in the compact market for today's economy and should be compared to same.
I wish I could read some remarks based on intelligent thought, ( It is gonna be flawed from the start cause it is called a "Dart" and is nothing like the original Dart). REALLY !!!!!!! other than you, who the hell wants an oversized poor handling gas guzzler.... I have seen a lot of pictures and read tons of info on this model and believe if the tweaks to the 2.0 and 2.4 make them a bit smoother and hopefully quieter they should do very well, and I like the looks and the fact it nears a midsize car in interior volume.

If you look at it from the front or the rear it looks nice. When you see it from the side you would think Honda or Toyota designed the thing, it just looks....yawning. The inside is sorta nice I saw it at an auto show, but the shifter is about a foot to long. It is gonna be flawed from the start cause it is called a "Dart" and is nothing like the original Dart. If Dodge wants to redeem themselves make the new "Cuda" (the Challangers replacement) an almost identical replica of the original. Out of the 3 (Mustang/Challanger/camaro) the Mustang is the closest to the old car. Not that close but the closest.

Gotta say. I know dodge is really banking on this to get them into the small, sporty car segment but this isn't it. It looks like a last gen elantra and the interior looks ridiculously cheap.

I'm seriously considering the Dart. 10 air bags, fuel efficient, sweet 8.4 inch touch screen navigation with bluetooth and I like the looks. low cost to own, low cost to maintain, 100,000 mile warranty, and easy to park.

Why is it that US auto manufacturers always think that American buyers want boring and conservative looking vehicles? Some do of course, but they are older and they Tauruses. I don't know anyone who prefers this over a hot European design. Everything about the Dart is derivative and not in a good way.

Are you saying entry level, fuel efficient cars aren't worth the R&D?
It is an entry level, fuel efficient car. What would you dump into R&D for that segment?

Yeah, let's go back to the brilliant management style that got the auto industry into the mess that required tax payer bailout.

Maybe it's a good thing you aren't heading an auto manufacturer.
