If you’re tired of your scanner just doing its job and not even bothering to look cool you might check out this DIY project. Let’s face it, Legos are the about as bad ass as you can get, so a scanner made almost entirely out of Lego bricks is perfect.

NXT Lego Scanner

This NXT scanner can scan and save images as BMP-files and those images can be saved in either 24-bit true color,  8-bit color or of course, gray scale. Honestly the scanner isn’t exactly a great scanner, but the fact that it’s made out of Legos more than makes up for it.

The creator, Anders, has posted DIY instructions for how to make your own. The instructions even include programming directions and you can find all of this directly on his website.
