Dish Network adds new 3D movies

One of the big issues that have plagued 3D TV owners and kept many from adopting the new tech aside from price of the sets and the fact that the active glasses are expensive has been the lack of content. Some of the big cable companies have added 3D sports channels, but many of the 3D stations are not 3D all the time.

Dish Network has announced that it is expanding its 3D movie offerings to allow 3D TV owners to watch some 3D shows on their sets via PPV. The new 3D flicks include new release titles like "Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore," "The Last Airbender," "A Christmas Carol" and "Step Up 3D." I am a bit embarrassed to write that last title.

In January, more 3D flicks will be coming to the service as well including "Despicable Me," "Shrek Forever After," and "Saw: The Final Chapter." The 3D flicks are in full 1080p resolution and rent for $5.99 to $7.99 per viewing. It's nice to see new 3D flicks coming to satellite services.
