I'm having the exact same problem. Am I the only one that realizes that nintendo was trying to mass produce the wii when the demand went up and in result had to put out a "we'll fix it later model"? I don't smoke anywhere in my house and had to watch the disappointment on my son's face on his birthday yesterday! This is complete bull and nintendo should have to compensate everyone of us. It makes me laugh that they think we're stupid enough to believe this dirty lens crap.

Speak for yourself DrGamer. I've had to buy the PS2 three times, and the PS1 twice. Sony has a good history with unstable consoles. For that reason I will wait until they release a slim version of the PS3 in order to buy it.

As for the Wii, I had to ship it back to Nintendo to have proffesionally cleaned in order to play the Super Smash Brothers Brawl. This is the first time I ever had problems with a Nintendo console. So, from now on, no more smoking when I play the Wii, and I'm gonna have to cover it up when I'm not playing it. I wouldn't want have to send it back if it ever got dirty again. Plus, I'm sure that SSBB won't be the last game to utilize dual layer technology.

I find it interesting that all the current generation systems seem to have such low tolerances for defects and contaminates. The Wii is apparently a bit more sensitive than normal to dirt and dust, the 360 was designed with inadequate cooling, and the PS3 although having few problems apparently has had random issues with HD output, random cases of overheating, and a raft of problems related to backwards compatibility further complicated by a half dozen different hardware revisions. PS3 looks to be a winner with regards to hardware stability, unfortunately it's still a loser in the market place (relative to the others, not saying it's dead or anything). Still, it always has been Sony's way to rally in the second half, so it will be interesting to see what position they're in this time next year, particularly now that BluRay is the undisputed winner of the HD war (for what it's worth).
