Ok. No science background here. Don’t flog me too hard… but dino farts are making me eyeball Venus, and its runaway greenhouse gas effects…and now I’m doing a wee bit of “hmmm…what if’s”.

Maybe a nice global catastrophic event wiping out dinos in time, is all that separated Earth from becoming a Venus. Maybe there was life on Venus one time, but it just farted itself into greenhouse’dom and everything died once things got too hot.
Lets fire up the rockets and do some digging! :D

Very stupid study. They forget the fact that millions of years ago, earth was totally a different place than what it is today. Some land masses were still underwater and that should tell us that although these animals were monstrous, conditions then did not allow huge numbers.

This is science? Information like this should remind us all of how little we really know and understand. Dinosaurs farting themselves into extinction? Either this group of scientist has an agenda to serve or they need to inject a bit of logic into their limited paradigm. Maybe it’s just be the author of this piece twisting information to create a story. He says, “Every school kid knows that the dinosaurs were wiped out by a massive climate changing event.” I don’t care what “every school kid knows,” the truth is that nobody fully knows what took place with the dinosaurs with any certainty.

Think it goes against that we cause global warming, the earth was alot warmer during the time of dinosaurs, then it went into an ice age and we are still coming out of an ice age from cave man times. There is global warming, but it occurs naturally, volcanoes, solar storms, and apparently farts, though dinosaurs weren’t the only animals who fart methane, humans do too, just most animals alive today are no where near the size dinosaurs were.

I think the writer, in a rush to giddy but erroneous reporting, may have mistaken methane gas for only a gaseous emission… Methane gas is also produced by solid waste.

These scientists have somehow concluded that the Earth was warm during the reign of the dinosaurs solely due to flatulance.
