I’m waiting for some detailed reviews before I buy it, but I’m definitely intrigued. It’s just hard to imagine Diablo 3 will live up to the level of hype it has. Player opinions so far?

Yah. For the most part, a decent intro for newbies, but at least fact-check your stuff. Top level (at least until the inevitable expansion) is 60, so you won’t be hitting 99 no matter how good you are.
