Dell's 34-inch curved display wants to surround you

Alienware's Area-51 gaming desktop isn't the only extreme product the company has today. Joining the triangular monster in the usual form-factor stakes is the Dell UltraSharp 34-inch Monitor (U3415W), the company's first curved display, targeting gamers as well as game developers.

Running at WQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution, with a 21:9 aspect ratio, the U3415W promises less eye-movement around the screen whether you're gaming or running productivity apps.

Connectivity includes HDMI 2.0, MHL, DisplayPort, and Mini DisplayPort. There are dual 9W speakers, too, and a fully-adjustable stand.

Dell has even made it easier to combine several of the displays into one huge panel, slimming the bezels down so that they present a minimal distraction between each screen. That could be handy if you're a flight-sim enthusiast, or just really, really love being surrounded by Word documents.

The Dell UltraSharp 34-inch Monitor will be up for order in China in November, and then globally from December. No word on pricing at this stage.
