Dell Vostro 1310, 1510 & 1710 business notebooks unveiled

Not exactly likely to overwhelm anybody in terms of appearance, Dell's new range of Vostro notebooks are the epitome of budget-business.  Three models have been introduced, the 1310, the 1510 and the 1710, differentiated primarily by their screen size.  Where the 1310 has a 13.3-inch display and is called by Dell, at 4.6lb, an ultraportable, the 1510 uses a larger 15.4-inch panel and weighs 5.7lbs.

Both the 1310 and 1510 have a choice of Core 2 Duo processors and can be outfitted with up to 4GB of RAM.  They also have slot-loading DVD drives, hard-drives from 80GB upward and WiFi b/g; as for the OS, Dell offer a choice of XP or Vista, and the laptops are supplied free of trial software or other crapware.  The Trusted Platform Module and a fingerprint reader are also options.

The 1710, unsurprisingly, has a 17-inch display.  Dell are tipping it for a mid-May launch, with the specs yet to be confirmed.  The 1310 and 1510, however, are available for order now, priced from $749 and $599 respectively.
