Dell have announced a new series of 14.1- and 15.6-inch Vostro business notebooks, the 1014, 1015 and 1088.  Intended as entry-level machines, they include integrated optical drives, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and EnergyStar 5.0 certification, together with four USB ports, gigabit ethernet and Bluetooth.

The new Vostro machines won’t go on sale in North America for another few months, but they’re already available in certain parts of Europe and will land in Asia Pacific and Japan today.  The Vostro 1015, for instance, is on sale from £235 ($386) pre-tax through Dell’s UK store, shipping with a choice of Core 2 Duo M or Celeron CPUs, up to 4GB of RAM, up to a 320GB 5,400rpm HDD and Intel’s GMA 4500MHD GPU driving a 15.6-inch HD antiglare display.

A 2-megapixel webcam is an option, as is an upgrade to ATI’s Radeon 4530 512MB GPU.  There are also product pages for the Vostro 1014, Vostro 1015 and Vostro 1088 on the Dell US site, though no ordering or pricing details.
