I ordered the Venue Pro on 12/1 -- given a date of delivery of 12/15. I checked the website several times and it still said 12/15. Today is the 14th and I didn't have an e-mail with my order tracking numer SO I logged into my account to see a new delivery date of 1/6/11! So, I called Dell. The support center appears to be in India and they are clueless. I was told that "this is the most popular phone" etc etc and so there is so much demand so delay -- which makes no sense as I ordered on line and they would KNOW in their inventory how many had been ordered when I bought it on the 1st. Now I reserach on line and find this out -- Why can't they be honest?

I too have been waiting very patiently for this phone to launch. I immediately ordered one on Dec 1 using the 7 day delivery because I had already paid VZ for another month of service. Then I see that Dell was not even shipping the Venue Pro till December 9 which meant I would not get my phone till Dec 17. Still no problem because I’d have a few days before I’d have to make another payment to Verizon.

I had a suspicion that the phone was gonna be delayed because it had not shipped and was due this Friday and when I woke this morning my suspicions were confirmed when I saw a message from Dell stating the following:

“Dear Customer,
We wanted to let you know that there is a delay with one or more items in your order.

Based on the latest available information, we have adjusted the Estimated Delivery Date and are confident your order will be delivered on or before 01/10/2011

We are sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience.”

I hate to be a dick but I’ve been waiting for this phone for entirely too long so I think I deserve to be a little upset. But I assume the delay is addressing a problem with the phone so it makes me feel better but still it makes Dell look bad.
