Dell UltraSharp U2410 LCD sports IPS

Dell announced their very first display based on IPS or in-plane-switching technology today. It's called the UltraSharp U2410 and it's a 24-inch LCD screen with improved color and accuracy.

IPS allows this display to sport 100-percent sRGB color space coverage and 96-percent Adobe RGB space coverage. Not too shabby, eh? This display is intended for graphics and video people and allows for color calibration data without hardware fiddling.

This new display from Dell also has a 6ms pixel response time, a 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 400cd/m2 brightness, VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, a four-port USB hub and RCA and component inputs for analog connections. You can get the UltraSharp U2410 LCD display in Japan now for the equivalent of $758. U.S. launch details have not yet been released.
