I just got my Streak a few days ago and I can’t seem to sync my SIM card. Could someone help with this? Also, I tried to set up my email accounts, etc., and it keeps telling me that I have invalid usernames and/or passwords. A little confusing since I know my information.

I really like the GPS on this phone/tablet.

I’m already addicted it the Streak!!

i just got my streak and yes i do like it but in the uk we still only got 1.6 or a 2.1 from O2 that went wrong for every one hence you cant get 2.1 any more. we all have to wait now for 2.2.
the main issue i have with it and lots of others too from what i have read is poor signal strength. on my old nokia 5800 using the same network 3.5G was easy to get and the phone hardly ever used gprs\edge for connection. with the streak im lucky to get a couple of bars with 3G and is allways using gprs\edge. I dont know if 2.2 update will sort this problem for me, but i really hope so.
dose any one know if it will.

dell is coming out with a 7′ and a 10′ dell streak. i already have the 5′ dell streak. I wonder if they will let me trade in for the bigger screen for free….just hopeful thinking

That all makes sense–thank you. Obviously once I got 2.0 I stopped keeping up with which applications began to support 1.6.

It sounds sexy enough, but the price is a wee bit steep. Even if I tell myself that I’d be able to use it as my phone on trips to the UK, my inner miser can’t quite justify marrying the first Android mini-tablet I meet when it seems there may be other more reasonably priced options on the horizon.

It’s definitely Android 1.6. Google updated their Maps Navigation beta to support 1.6 a few months back.

As for the band issue, the Streak only has dualband 3G (that’s the UMTS/HSPA part) for high-speed cellular connectivity. The quadband GSM/EDGE means you’ll be able to use it for voice calls and slower cellular data in North America, but you won’t get high-speed cellular data.

In contrast, the iPad 3G + WiFi has a quadband 3G modem, which works in both North America and Europe. Hope that clears things up.

It doesn’t actually sound like it’s running 1.6. My phone just upgraded to 2.0 and got the pinch-to-zoom, Google maps turn-by-turn, and the new Market with screen shots. 1.6 had none of these. Were you able to check the OS software version?

I’m confused about whether it’s quadband or dualband. In the spec rundown you mention “quadband GSM/EDGE and dualband 900/2100 UMTS/HSPA” but later you say, “One point where the iPad does move ahead of the Streak is in its 3G support: the iPad WiFi + 3G has a quadband UMTS modem, while the Streak only has dual-band.”

Well, I’m glad to help improve your life. The rule doesn’t go with all vowels, but from this point you can learn on your own.

Now, would you also agree your assumption that the author didn’t compare Streak with an iPhone because he didn’t have one available was as failed as your spelling?

I believe one should use “an” in front of a vowel-starting word (them pesky indefinite articles are so hard to remember, I know). And one should also probably use capitalised “i” for a pronoun. And if one doesn’t want idiotic replies, maybe one should work on the logic of his posts. Then again, I’m only musing.

given the size, a comparison with the iphone or ipod touch would perhaps be more correct.. But i guess you only have a ipad available.
