Love mine! Never broke the screen, had it over a year and im a hobbyist engineer, its been under cars using the torch, as my mp3 / gps route/speed recorder in long distance cycle rides, on 12hour small fishing boat trips, on holiday from england to NC (great on the plane) and ive dropped it from a good 8ft! I have a light silicone case, which protects it from everything but dropping it into something with a protrusion, as the silicone protects it even if it lands screen first on marble! Anyway, if you broke it, bad luck noob ;) if it freezes, man up and get investigating! A small computer will need a little maintenance, so i guess its not for the weak minded.

I own one. Really, really, really love the 5 inches.
But yes, the Dell Streak had lot of nasty issues, thirst the too fragile screen (mine got broked twice, and for minor things!).
Add that received no marketing and you are now at the point of say it “Goodbye”.

But 5 inches are wanderful :-)

Faulty product. The screens broke really easily. Dell didn’t want to know about it till 100s complained. Then they just said sorry, discontinued.

I am also a dell streak 5 owner. I love it. I think if you can carry a I pad around, than how can this be to big? Fits perfectly in my back pocket with otter box casing. Women can fit in there purse. I think it needed more advertisement. Every body who see it ask is it a phone, and it blows there minds.

This really upsets me I loved my dell streak 5! I was robbed in the french quarter and that was ONE of the things taken from me! I wanted to replace it even though there is no insurance for it! :(

Well Dell may have abandoned us but Samsung is coming out with the ’Galaxy Note’ with a 5.3″ screen so I won’t have to worry when I’m ready for a new multi purpose device.

By the way, I just pa i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2-64GB and my boyfriend loves his Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.
I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.

“ It was too big to be a phone while also too small to really enjoy as a tablet.” This is the lazy analysis offered by lots of pundits, but as a 5″ Streak owner for a year I dispute this claim. I always have my Streak in my pocket, always, and it is comfortable and fine there. I make 100% of my calls on it. And it’s my primary way to read books. No other device allows me to do that (I tried for a year to read books on an iPhone… too small). The Streak has/had several flaws. Being 5″ is not one of them.
