Dell OptiPlex 9020 and 3020 Micro PCs expand desktop roster

Among Dell's product debuts this week are a couple new micro desktop PCs, the OptiPlex 9020 and the OptiPlex 3020. Both are small-form-factor computers targeted towards anyone who prefers a desktop system over a laptop, offering a small rectangular design that can fit in nearly any setup.

The two desktops look similar in design, with the OptiPlex 9020 being the higher-end of the two models. Both bring with them a size that Dell says is 67-percent smaller than its smallest current micro PC — the units weigh in at 1.2kg and come with five mounting options.

The OptiPlex 9020 hasn't been detailed yet, but according to Dell's website, the 3020 will be launched with a variety of hardware options, including Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, Windows 7 Pro, 4GB of RAM, and 500GB of storage via a 2.5" HDD.

The OptiPlex 9020 is hailed as the more secure option of the two, but both are targeted at individuals, companies, and more in need of a slim and small desktop unit. Dell's website isn't yet showing the 9020 model, but both are said to be available now starting at $499 USD.
