Dell Latitude 3000, 5000, and 7000 Series laptops begin rolling out next month

Earlier this month, Dell's Latitude 7000 Series appeared in part on the PC maker's website, with it coming some images and specifications about the ultrabook. Now the line has officially been launched alongside two others: the Latitude 3000 and Latitude 5000 Series notebooks. While the 7000 Series is available now, the rest will begin rolling out in September.

Starting with the Latitude 3000 Series, users will have both 14-inch and 15.6-inch display options, both of which can be purchased in touchscreen varieties. Both models are likewise available with Intel fourth-generation Core processors with Turbo Mode and "business class discrete graphics". Both models fall into the entry level category, and will be available on September 12 starting at $599.

Next in line is the Latitude 5000 Series available in 14.1-inch and 15.6-inch varieties. Hardware options includes up to an Intel Core i7 processor, a well as SSDs and Performance SSHDs depending on need. The displays feature Corning Gorilla Glass NBT to help keep them safe, and connectivity includes – among the common – a mobile broadband option. The series will be available in October, price not yet announced.

And finally there's the 7000 Series, which is the highest end among the group and falls solidly into the "ultrabook" category. The displays are featured in 12-inch and 14-inch varieties, and come with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT, in addition to a tri-metal chassis and support for WiGig accessories. The 7000 Series is also said to be the only corporate ultrabook that is backwards compatible with the E-family of Latitude docks. Available now starting at $1,049 USD.

Said Dell's Kirk Schell: "These exciting new additions to the Latitude line provide our commercial customers what they've been asking for by bringing touch capability to the workspace at desirable price points. The new Latitude 7000 Series builds on the success of the award-winning XPS and Latitude 6430u to redefine the corporate laptop, complete with security, manageability, reliability and beautiful design. And with the Latitude 5000 and 3000 Series, we've addressed the needs of today's dynamic workforce by enabling easy entry into business-class computing."
