Google did not do any Ads for Android when it came out, it was an unknown OS. Yet it blew the compitition away and still doing so. MS on the other hand has made Windows mobile before and is know for there software, I wonder why the Win Phone 7 blows so much? Hint its the OS.

I agree with Joe. I have been waiting for my 2 years to end just to get a new Microsoft WM7.5 phone. Hopefully by year’s end they’ll come out with some nice phones. My wife has Android, my co-workers have Apple, and I’ve always had Microsoft Windows phones. Overall MW7.5 is the best.
Also, do you realize that Android did good the first year because it is made by the company that makes their main profit from ADVERTISING??

Let’s take a step back and look at the facts here: Mango runs on the Venue Pro and MS did not change the hardware requirements for Mango, and the Venue Pro is one solidly built device with a fantastic screen, compared to other more plasticy ones – Dell is saving themselves time and money by simply continuing support for this one instead of building a new device just becase its a new OS (ie.. Apple) and will probably wait and see what happens and can easily create a new one when WP 8 comes out next year – its that simple.

i really can’t understand why this is in the news. if you go to the dell site and try to buy one of the venue’s in the listing it says comes with New Windows® Phone 7.5 experience is that not mango then!!..

I think Windows Phone will take considerable market share from Android.

WP 7 was outdated when it was first released, WP 7.5 is where WP starts.
It is usable, does not crash, still has the Microsoft typical error numbers and holds a promise for a better future, that’s all what one can say about it.

I don’t like Zune at all which calls me player #4567788 or whatever.

Pity. The Dell Venue Pro was the most promising and solid Windows Phone 7 device, with a screen second only to the Focus.

Really no one, in the grand scheme of thing MSs Win phone 7 is dead as it relates to the other two big mobile OSs. It has had time to grow, and it simply has not. No one cares for it.

You are right. I tried WP7 at a local phone store in the UK and it nearly gave me an epileptic fit. Its got loads of unnecessary animation and that tile interface is such a bad idea. It looks so drab. I am afraid Nokia may just sink with this OS. I applaud Microsoft for trying to make something different,but they went too far with this.

Of course I hope I am WRONG about this as I have nothing against Microsoft and wish Nokia the best.

Wow… the Dell venue Pro has been one of the more sought after devices hasn’t it? It’s just hard to find, and who’s fault is that? It’s the only Windows Phone with a portrait Physical keyboard. If I were able to snag a Windows Phone, it would have been that.

Yes i think its odd people hate the windows phone, but probably have never actually used one for long. I got one on release have used everything from android to iphone, i really like the phone. Its fast, effient and handles everything i throw at it really well. I was annoyed it didnt come with a Remote Desktop app but hey, there are ones for download.

They currently have one of the top Windows laptops in the industry, the 15z. Second only to the samsung series 9, but much cheaper.

What kind of phone do you have? Why does everyone bash the windows phone. If you don’t like competition you are an idiot to be straight forward. Take your bad attitude somewhere else. Go jump on any bandwagon as long as it’s popular right? Windows phone is great for me and the mango update makes it even better.

the reason they are discontinuing the phone has nothing to do with the UI/OS…and everything to do with how amazing the Nokia devices are.

I like my windows 7 phone. Interfaces brilliantly with Exchange, and I haven’t had one issue with it. I CANNOT say the same about android, which the latest Galaxy S II has issues with Exchange, and Apple iOS which I don’t like, because of iTunes dependency. Zune sync is considerably better!

The Windows 7 Phone is just being constantly trolled by people, but I have yet to meet someone that has the phone that is dissatisfied. The area where Windows 7 Phone needs help is the limited marketplace of apps, but that will come in time.

A real shame. The Venue Pro had some of the best aesthetics of any Windows Phone on the market.
