Vine upgraded with mentions and front-facing camera support

An update for Vine is rolling out today that brings a few new features to the social app as well as various bug fixes. One of the major updates included is the added support for front-facing cameras. By pressing the button located on the bottom left corner of your phone, you can switch over to your front-facing camera and send 6 second messages that way. We're expecting many users to abuse this new feature with selfies and whatnot.

Four new Grand Theft Auto V trailers focus on character angles

This week the folks at Rockstar Games have pushed four new videos for the upcoming multi-platform game release for Grand Theft Auto V. One of the videos takes an all-in-one approach, making a combined effort to show each of the hero characters for the game: Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Each of these characters will be playable by the user in the game as it's released in the near future - this sort of playability shows Rockstar's understanding of the gamer in our modern gaming market today: they like choices!

B&N slashes NOOK in UK: Promo or firesale?

Barnes & Noble has slashed the prices of its entire NOOK ereader range in the UK, including making its NOOK Simple Touch just £29 ($45), as part of what the company says is a temporary promotion. The discounting, which comes alongside a UK literacy push, means the Simple Touch is now the cheapest ereader on the UK market, B&N claims; its backlit NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight sibling is also reduced.

Apple looks to boost in-car integration with iOS 7

We'll most likely hear about iOS 7 at some point this year, possibly at WWDC in June, but in the meantime we're left to speculate on what we could see in the new update. However, it's reported that iOS 7 will focus more on in-car integration with Apple Maps and Siri. The company is said to be improving in that section of iOS in order to deliver their technology to more cars.

Skype for Outlook.com isn't the only new software the VoIP firm has today, with Skype Video Messaging for Windows desktop also emerging for those who want to send quick video snippets to each others' inboxes. Joining February's Video Messaging functionality for iOS, Android, and Mac, the new Windows beta works fully on Windows 7, but those running Windows 8 only get partial support.
