Qualcomm brings S4 power to Samsung ATIV Tab and S

Just in case you didn't catch it in the whirlwind of announcements that were laid down today at IFA 2012 by Samsung, Qualcomm has announced that their ultra-powerful Snapdragon S4 processor lineup will be bringing the heat to the ATIV S smartphone and ATIV Tab tablet. The ATIV Tab tablet running Windows RT while the ATIV S is set to be one of the very first Windows Phone 8 devices to hit the market this Fall. The Qualcomm team's Snapdragon lineup also remains the only set of processor to power Windows Phone, 100% of them, the whole world over.

Jelly Bean set for Galaxy S III and Note 10.1 “very soon” says Samsung

An update to your Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 are right around the corner in the form of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean - so says Samsung. It's at IFA 2012 that the company made the announcement that the software would be hitting both devices "very soon" as it were, with the Samsung Galaxy Note II having been announced earlier in the event they spoke at as coming with Jelly Bean right out of the box. This duo of devices currently works with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

At IFA 2012 we've gotten our first glimpse of the next phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note II - now it's time to compare to the original from one year ago to see what's been improved. First you'll notice that the casing for the device has taken on a whole lot more "Galaxy S III" styling, just as the original Note did with the Galaxy S II. The back and front are more than likely going to feature different color combinations even beyond the blue and white we've seen thus far.

Samsung comments on Apple “hindrance” at IFA 2012

In Berlin amongst the massive avalanche of product announcements from the company, Samsung's CEO spoke up about how their legal battles with Apple are affecting their bottom line. The CEO simply let it be known that "Regardless of any hindrance, we will continue to provide the best product in the industry". Though Apple was not mentioned specifically, it's quite clear that Samsung was referring to the most public "hindrance" they've encountered in the past few years.

Today Vimeo announced that it has teamed up with Dropbox to bring its users a new way of uploading videos. Seeing an opportunity since so many Dropbox users use the service to back up and save their videos, Vimeo now lets you upload directly from Dropbox, cutting out a step or two between saving the finished product and getting it uploaded to the Web. Even better is that feature is available now, so there won't be any waiting for some far-off launch date.
